Most schedule arguments are about a pattern nobody costed: a 2-2-3 that averages 42 hours, a 4 on 4 off that needs a fourth crew nobody hired. Laying the pattern out with its hours per person and its crews for coverage is the decision, and it is the one most teams make by feel.
A schedule that changed on the whiteboard after Tuesday's photo is the source of every no-show argument. Keeping each published version with its date means the one everybody saw is the one that counts, and the change is a version rather than a rumour.
