About Rotazo
Rotazo is a small piece of software for the person who staffs the shifts in a US small business. It has two halves. The worksheet is free and lays out a rotating pattern on the page from the numbers you type in: the crews, the shift length, the days on and off in the cycle, the people a shift needs, and what an hour costs. Rotazo Pro is the record the schedule becomes: every published version with its date, every swap and call-out with who covered it, and every person's hours for the week and the cycle, kept and exportable at any time.
Why this site exists
This site exists because the shift schedule in most small businesses lives on a whiteboard and in a group chat, and the moment somebody misses a shift, swaps one, or asks why they were on six in a row, three sources have to be reconciled from memory. The arithmetic behind a rotating pattern is simple, the record of what was published is what settles the argument, and neither deserves a spreadsheet nobody can find on Sunday night.
Who it is for
The owner, manager or supervisor of a salon, a restaurant, a gym, a clinic, a warehouse crew, a security post or a plant that runs shifts, with five to eighty hourly staff and a schedule to publish every week or every cycle
Not a UK employer writing a rota, not a service company dispatching jobs to crews, not a surveyor, not a payroll or HR buyer, and not a worker looking for a ruling on what their employer may schedule
What it does not do
- No legal opinion on hours, rest, overtime or pay: what your state requires of your schedule is your employment lawyer's answer, and the rules cited on each guide are where that conversation starts
- No time clock, no payroll and no dispatch: Rotazo records who was scheduled, never who clocked in, what they were paid or which job they were sent to
- No ranking of scheduling apps and no vendor comparisons: this site publishes no product's rating
- No introductions to staffing agencies: we sell no leads and no lists
What is on this site
1 free tools, each working its figure on the page with no account, and Rotazo Pro that keeps the record. All tools · Pricing.
- Rotating schedule generator: Put in the crews, the shift length, the days on and off in the cycle and the people a shift needs, and see the hours per person, the crews that cover the clock, and the cost of a cycle.
What Rotazo Pro keeps
Upgrading turns the worksheet into the record. The pattern becomes a schedule with names on it; every publish is a dated version; a swap or a call-out is recorded against the shift with who covered it; every person's hours add up on their own page. Export is always available, so the schedule history is yours whether or not you stay.
